Enrichment activities

What can I do?

College life is about much more than your formal studies. Regent College offers a varied programme of optional enrichment activities. These may take place during or after the college day.

Opportunities include;

  • Fashion and talent shows.
  • Events at DeMontfort Hall including the Comedy Festival Preview show.
  • Schools Showcase – an event organised and headlined at DeMontfort Hall by our students.
  • College Choir
  • Visits to shows such as "Britain's Got Talent"
  • Student Newspaper
  • Film viewings
  • Henna masterclass
  • Knitting group
  • A Dragon's Den event (Leicestershire has Got Business Talent finalists in 2010)
  • Website creation
  • Animation and Film Making

Healthy meals a hit!

Student council members pose with kitchen staff
The student council took over the college canteen for a day to promote healthy eating in December.
The price of chips went up and healthy options such as salads, chilli and sandwiches were on the menu. The student council gave away free fruit to anyone who bought a meal.

Sports and Recreation

Please note that details of future sporting fixtures can be found on our "Upcoming Events" page within the "News and Events" section.

Our attractive parkland site offers good sports facilities including;

  • Tennis courts
  • Football and cricket pitches
  • Basketball and netball courts
  • Cricket nets
  • A specialist weights room.

The college has staff who are specialist sports co-ordinators and you can take part in a variety of college team or individual sports including;

  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Rugby
  • Badminton
  • Tennis

There are a wide range of other opportunities and ways of staying healthy which include;

  • Street Dance
  • Keep Fit
  • Gym
  • Self Defence classes.

We also offer Sports Leadership Qualifications and the opportunity to take Coaching Badges.
