Choosing where to continue your education is a major decision and I believe that Regent College will be a choice you will not regret, especially if you are ambitious and determined to succeed. As a result of our size we are committed to focus on the needs of each individual student and aim to nurture each student and ensure their journey at Regent College is a successful and life-enhancing experience.
I am pleased that you are thinking about joining Regent College to continue your studies. Regent College is a diverse and friendly learning community where students progress well in their studies and we are very proud of their achievements. The college has consistently been within the top 15% of all schools and colleges nationally in the main measures of student progress or 'value added' and our students achieved a 'best ever' Advanced Level pass rate of 97% in 2009, 2010 and repeated this again in 2011. Since 2009 our pass rate for all qualifications, including those at level 1 and 2, has increased by 10% with a continued increase year on year.
Every year students join us from every school in Leicester, many in the County and beyond. When you join us, we will invest time in you! We will give you all the support and encouragement you need to achieve the success you deserve and to create the future you want for yourself. We'll treat you with respect, take your views seriously and encourage you to be creative, make new friends and contribute to the wider community. Of course, this will be a partnership and you will put just as much back into Regent College as you excel in your time here.
This is an exciting time for year 11 students as you think about where you would like to progress your studies, what subjects you would like to study and where you will most benefit from your college experience.
What does the future hold for Regent College?
The College has announced exciting plans to develop our sporting and teaching facilities through a project involving the University of Leicester. The project will see the development of a new state-of-the-art medical school within the current grounds of Regent College, strengthening our existing good links with the University and Medical School. Through the project, Regent College will be developing a new full sized sports hall, gym , high specification laser levelled and drained football pitch, changing facilities and 5/6 classroom teaching block. This is an exciting development for the college as we seek to expand our sporting facilities and provision. This is in addition to a recent £1.3m refurbishment programme that has seen brand new high specification Science facilities and a massive investment in ICT.
Exciting times are ahead of us and I hope you too choose to be a part of our continuing success.
