How do I apply?

Application Process

Each year, students join us from over forty schools in Leicester, Leicestershire and further afield. All new students settle in quickly and easily, wherever they come from.

Your school will support your online or paper application through the common application process (LeCAP) used by all Leicester's colleges. If you are not currently at a Leicester school you should contact Regent College for information on how to apply. You will be invited to interview. The invitation letter will give you a full explanation of how to prepare. At the interview you will discuss your choice and other options if you do not meet the entry criteria. Those who do get a place will be invited to taster sessions. Enrolment and induction take place as you start college.

More and more applicants are making Regent College their choice of college - all the more reason to apply early.

November 2011 to January 2012 - Leicestershire Common Application Process (LeCAP)

This process is supported in schools across Leicester and Leicestershire. If you are unsure of how to apply through the LeCAP process please consult you careers staff at school, a connexions advisor or contact us directly.

January 2012 onwards - Late applications and amendments possible through LeCAP

It is not too late to apply, simply discuss this at school or contact us directly to discuss or change your application

February-April 2012 – Interviews

You will be invited to an interview at Regent College to discuss your provisional course and ask any questions. if you put Regent College as your 1st choice you will be interviewed first and take priority. In most cases we will be able to make offers of a place at interview.

May 2012- Accepting your offer

If you are offered a place at Regent College, you must secure your place by returning the offer slip. It is important that you do not hold a place at more than one college so you should inform your 1st and 2nd choice of your decision.

Summer 2012 - Taster days

You will be sent information about enrolment and induction and will have an opportunity to re-visit the college.

August 23rd 2012 – GCSE results

August 2012 – Enrolment

You must attend enrolment in order to register as a full-time student at Regent College. Your actual grades will be checked against your original offer to ensure that you meet the correct entry requirements and you will confirm your course choices. If you do not have the correct grades, we may be able to offer you an alternative programme.

September 2011 – Induction

Once you have enrolled you will attend an induction programme where you will meet the Principal, collect your timetable and participate in a number of activities in order to become more familiar with the college. You will then start on your timetable.

What if I don't do as well as I'd hoped?

If we have offered you a place and you have accepted, we will try to place you on an appropriate course whatever your results - as long as you can show that you are keen to study and want to succeed.
You will be given a time and day to enrol at the college once your GCSE results are out in late August. Staff will be on hand to discuss your individual requirements.
If you haven't applied by late August you can contact the college for advice about what options are available to you.
