Regent students win top exhibition prizes

A Visual Arts student has won The Lord Mayor’s Art Prize as part of the prestigious Open 23 Exhibition, held at New Walk Museum & Gallery in Leicester.
Kamil Lisiak was presented with a trophy and £50 prize at a special presentation on Friday 11th November. Talented Kamil also won the Youth category prize and was awarded overall exhibition winner.
28 A2 Art and Photography students have shown off their creative talent and seen off tough competition to have their work selected for The Open Exhibition at the New Walk Museum.
Other top performers were Jolanta Kluzik and Shevelle Roberts were amongst the runners up and each received a £20 gift voucher for the New Walk Museum & Art Gallery Shop.
This popular and diverse exhibition presents a selection of artworks and contemporary craft by artists from Leicester, Leicestershire and the East Midlands. The exhibition is a showcase of of different art forms, from landscape painting to photography, illustration and sculpture, textiles and ceramics.
The exhibition runs until 8th January 2012. The prize winner’s work and five other shortlisted works will also be displayed at the Town Hall after the exhibition closes.
