Revitalise week

14th December 2011
Students got an end of term boost with a new Revitalise event. During the week long event, students got to try out activities such as Boxercise, Bokwa (a form of African Dance), Bikram Yoga (the hot one), Mindfulness, Streetdance, and new exercise craze Zumba.
The event was organised by the Youth Development Team to promote well-being, health and fitness. A revitalise fair took place in the studio on the final day, involving over 15 different organisations to offer information, advice and guidance to students on a range of activities and issues including smoking cessation, sexual health, confidence and self-esteem, as well as volunteering opportunities and staying safe.
Jess 16, tried Bikram, she said: " It looks interesting, especially as I am doing the BTEC in Sport here at college."
Charlie, 17, said: " I think it's intriguing, it was good to see the video showing young lads - they don't seem like people who would enjoy yoga. If they can do it anyone can. I'll definitely give it a go."
